About Us

What Do We Do?

Counselling offers you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to explore issues you may be struggling with. People come to counselling for a range of reasons including:
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Relationships
  • Abuse
  • Work, money, exam pressure
Counselling can help you explore your thoughts and feelings, releasing some of the pressure and explore ways of coping to enable you to move forward.

Jenny and Sharon provide sessions with a strong person-centred foundation, although incorporate a number of other therapeutic elements, such as CBT, play, art and group work.
There's no fixed number of sessions that you'll need. Each one of you is unique and we will review regularly together to make sure you are getting out of counselling what you were hoping for, along with how many sessions you might need, even then it’s not fixed in stone. You will always be the one making the decision. Each session will last up to 50 minutes.

We offer sessions in Northwich, Cheshire from our accessible and discreet private counselling room. We also provide the option, by agreement, to offer counselling appointments at an alternate location.

Sessions are around £55 dependent on needs.

If you’re a little unsure if counselling is for you, explore the tabs above and the links section for more information, or simply get in touch for a no obligation informal chat.

Who We Are

Sharon and Jenny’s shared vision for improving wellbeing through the provision of a high quality counselling service, has developed into a unique partnership to deliver a tailored service to communities and individuals within Cheshire.

Jenny Young

I am a mum to two young girls, 10 & 12 and have lived in Northwich since 2013 having grown up in Cheshire. I enjoy spending time with the family, exploring the outdoors and nature and painting in my spare time. Having spent 10 years working for children's services, focused on safeguarding, I have come back to working directly with those in need of support. My counselling experience includes, schools and charitable organisations, working with clients age 5 to 70+ with a wide range of issues, each experience adding to my admiration for clients’ ability to heal within the counselling relationship.

Sharon Melrose

I am a mum of a girl and boy, 21 and 19 and have lived in Cheshire since 2001. I love spending time with family and friends especially outdoors on my bike. During my training to become a qualified person-centred counsellor I learnt that my biggest strength is to bring myself into the counselling room. This has allowed my clients to feel safe and together create a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. I have worked with client’s aged 11-60+ presenting with a range of issues. My counselling experience includes working for a local charity providing emotional support to children, young people and their families. I love working with young people as I feel passionate about helping them through this time in their lives when they are faced with many challenges and work with them to find their own coping mechanisms and resilience needed to help them as they enter adulthood. I also work as a loss and bereavement counsellor at a local hospice. To have the opportunity to provide support to people during such difficult times is incredibly rewarding and to feel that I can truly make a difference to them is what motivates me to want to do more.
Having completed a Level 7 Accredited postgraduate diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Salford, Sharon and Jenny are both members of the BACP (British association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). The BACP is the largest regulating body for the field in the UK, as such, Jenny and Sharon work in accordance with their professional guidelines for ethical practice.
